.-After The Beatles broke up in 1970, John Lennon continued to be in the world's eyes.

-During the seventies John became a peace activist, releasing many songs speaking out for peace.

- Many songs, such as "Imagine," "Give Peace a Chance," and "Happy Xmas (War is Over)," became very important to the Anti-Vietnam Movement.

- John believed his solo work was as good as, if not better, then the music The Beatles did.



-Nixon believed John Lennon was planning on having a concert as the 1972 Republican National Convention.




-In March of 1972, the United States Immigration and Naturalization services began steps for Deportation.

-John Lennon was shot to death outside of his apartment on December 8, 1980
